old FAQs:
The season ends in August. Depending on how far your team gets in the post season will determine your last date of play. Typically most teams will finish around the first week in August, with the teams qualifying for semi/finals finishing around the 2nd week of August.
The MCUDL Draft season usually begins the second week in May. The exact date is determined by the Draft League Coordinator and depends on which team you are assigned to.
There is a MCUDL Picnic at the end of the season where both Draft and A League compete in semi finals. Everyone is invited to the picnic - food is provided and awards are presented. In addition, the league is planning a tournament during the season so all players can get a chance to play with other people outside their draft teams.
At a minimum, bring a light and a dark shirt. You will get a team shirt at the first game as well. Cleats are always helpful as well as water.
Yes – hopefully there will be 1 or 2 beginner clinics before the season begins in late April/early May. In addition, throughout the season there will be a few “Basic Ultimate” sessions for those who want to do drills and practice their Ultimate skills.

For the Draft Division, all registered players are placed on a list. Around May 1st, the team captains get together and select players from that list. Everyone on the Draft Division List is placed on a team. Anyone who misses the deadline will be assigned to a team, provided there is room, some time during the second, or third week of the season. No assignments are made during the first week.

The approximate size of each team will be 18 players depending on how many people register for the season.

The A Division is MCUDL’s more competitive division. Teams are self-forming. Individuals looking to play in the A Division need to contact the existing teams directly to see if openings are available. Anyone looking to form a new team shall contact the League President. For the A Division, each team selects its own roster. Players interested in joining and A Division team must do so themselves. There is no guarantee that any player will get to be on an A Division team.
To become an A Division captain, you must contact the MCUDL president. To become a Draft Division captain, you must indicate your interest on your registration form.
Go to www.mcudl.org and click on “Register.” Please note that to be registered you must do all three of the following things:
Your team captain will contact you if a game will be rescheduled due to weather. The game will be rescheduled based on the team captains agreeing to a make-up date. Games are usually played rain or shine. In the case of lightning or severe weather, games may be delayed or rescheduled.
There are 1-3 scheduled games each week depending on the schedule or make ups.
Friday night Open Division has been renamed Open Pickup. Not enough teams came out to legitimize its "Division" status. People will still come out on Friday nights, play Ultimate, BBQ and socialize.
