Open Division Update Friday night was perfect for Ultimate. Three teams, three games, great weather. In the first match up, Newcomers Montgomery Weaksauce came out of the gate quick and strong with three unanswered points against the men of Roots and any Peyote guys who hadn’t gone to the Pitt tourney. The new guys looked good but experience and confidence won out with Peyote-Roots coming out on top. Mercer’s First Seven finally had enough players by the end of the first game to field a team but the few enthusiastic players who did show could not stop Peyote’s run-and-gun, giving Pennsbury their second win, matching their 2005 mark of 2-0. Last up was Weaksauce vs. First Seven. Wind, sun, dust, and / or dusk must have affected the Mercer Regulars because try as they may, 7 could not put a decent hurtin’ on the new kids in town. Standings: Roots of Rhythm (2-0) Montgomery Weaksauce (1-1) First Seven (0-2)
